Fall bivalent boosters: Science update round 4

I also interviewed the CDC Program Lead for more context. Science until now We have ~9 lab studies and 1 real world study showing the fall boosters provide:

@erictopol we got the bivalent booster in late September—w/in days of it becoming available—and got our first COVID infection last week, probably while sitting at urgent care for something else. We were vulnerable after two straight months of back-to-book school-acquired viral infections. But damn it’s demoralizing. Now I’m feeling despair about our ability to avoid re-infection in the future because I don’t know what we could have done differently this time.
@erictopol thank you for sharing this! Getting my 2yo her bivalent booster next week (and probably a cupcake, lol)!

All for updated boosters, but I'm not sure it's more effective than a monovalent booster. All the comparisons are with boosters given months ago.

I think the important thing is time from your last booster dose. Circulating antibodies, not your memory T-cells.
