At first blush, Mastodon seems like a less intuitive Twitter. I doubt this will go anywhere. Twitter should probably go extinct anyway.

@MurrayBurns you gotta work a little harder here. But it's been a couple weeks for me and I'm finding substance here. It's not Twitter but maybe that's a good thing.

You’re probably right. I’ve spent less than 20 minutes here total. What I’m saying is that Twitter wasn’t great to begin with. Mastodon seems like a clone of Twitter. Even if it does catch on, will it be any better?

@MurrayBurns Mastodon is decentralized. Multiple unique servers, instances or Federations as they're called here. Different islands you can see posts from or you can find one you like and stay in it. No one can be a dictator like Elon or Zuck on here.
