@godpod

Where the in hell is everyone? I’ve been twitter free for months and months but am having a bitch of a time finding folks to follow here. Except god, of course. How weird is it for an outspoken atheist to be as excited as I was to find god?????

@KEF @godpod

May I suggest you add a pic, write a small bio and then boost, fav and follow as many posts that interest you. I was told to do this and low and behold, I have a great home feed with interesting people, pics and jokes. I look at my local feed 2nd and I hardly have the time for the federal feed. This is how it worked for me. 🙂 💜

@RockyM @KEF @godpod I find it harder to blindly follow, but I think I'm going to start taking that advise.

Annnnnnnnd follow!

@jinsoku @KEF @godpod

You can always unfollow people later if they don't jive with what you like to read, but I found some of those people boost some others that are really neat. You can also stop seeing the boosts of people if you feel it's too much on your home feed.

@RockyM @KEF @godpod I'm still trying to figure out how all that melds together and where to actually focus on, (home feed?! Search newest posts? Go by hashtags?)

Honestly, it's a bit refreshing to actually brain a little to get this to work, but I can see it being a bit overwhelming for the average install-and-just-go user.

@jinsoku @KEF @godpod

I personally like using my computer because there is a setting where I can have Home, Local and Federated or Notifications all open at the same time. The app is a little more restrictive, but even then I open mindly.social on my phone's webpage. If you are on the web, you can show settings and pin panels.

@RockyM I actually JUST logged on through the web and clicked Federated and HOLY HELL it shoots things out a mile a second! XD

It's funny you bring this up because I just asked this question out into the void, but what's the point of choosing a server if you can still just get posts from other server "topics" or w/e.

Not that I mind! I actually prefer just... to see everything but, I guess I'm struggling to understand the net positive of that concept.

@jinsoku

If you scroll a little you can slow the fed feed and then read as you like. I suppose the point in a specific server (instance) is your local timeline is made up of those people only and it's clean. I saw your post because I follow God. If you didn't post to God we wouldn't be chatting since we aren't on the same instance.
