I Would Have Cheated in College Using ChatGPT

In a heartbeat. But only under certain circumstances.

Don't you think clever teachers can defeat ChatGPT? For example, an essay could start the first week of the semester with students writing about what they know (or think they know) about a topic. Throughout the semester students revise the original and subsequent versions incorporating the lessons learned, discussions, research, etc.

The iterative and incremental process would ensure the student's work reflected not only their voice, but incorporated what was taught.

@massonpj For sure—assuming that the teachers have enough time relative to the number of students they’re working with. Unfortunately, we don’t create those conditions often enough.

Gonna ask ChatGPT a question if my students are having trouble jumping into a discussion.
