Pro-Elon trolls are joining the #TwitterMigration so here's your regular reminder to block and report them immediately. If a server continuously fails to take action against abuse, block that server and demand your instance admin do the same.

Here, we're the content moderation. I've got major respect for the folks who built this place because, while the rest of us were complaining over on the #birdsite, they were successfully de-federating Gab.

@eldon Because trans, queer, disabled, and racialized people deserve to exist in online spaces without facing hatred and abuse.

People who believe that other humans should have less rights and dignity absolutely deserve to be censored.

There is no both-sides when it comes to fascism.

@jonielena @eldon What Joni said. We can have differing views on which car is best, pizza toppings, or even public policy. There's no "both sides are valid" when one side is hate/ misogyny/ racism/ antiLGBTQ.

@eldon @jonielena I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with me. I have a problem with fascists, racists, xenophobes, bigots, religious/political radicals, etc. Those I censor and block, but in person I punch them in the face.

@david @jonielena hmmmm. Understand, but partly uncomfortable with how you’re expressing some elements.
Lucky enough to not really have been severely marginalized, so maybe that’s a blind spot. Still, I can be pro something, without being against something different. Right, totally agree with a just, decent world. I cannot agree with violence - even rhetoric.
And, does the world have a ‘common’ or ‘agreed’ definition of decency? I’m not aware…

@eldon @jonielena I am not a violent person. Far from it. I am sorry if the "punch them in the face" encapsulated me as one. There is a threshold, though, for everything. The expansionist, aggressive, Nazi Germany of WWII would have taken over if it wouldn't have met a match. Russia would own Ukraine by now. There are many, many more examples in human history like that.

What I am trying to say is, most of those I listed are violent groups. They want to hurt others. Occasionally, violence begets violence. It is a fact.

Now, back to the OP post, since we astray a little. I will censor, and block anyone promoting the ideas, and beliefs, the groups I mentioned have. It is that simple.

@eldon @jonielena I left Twitter years ago because I was tired of being attacked just for existing. I never came back. That's true for a lot of trans people like me and a lot of other marginalized folks as well. My usage of Mastodon is contingent on not having to deal with that all over again.

Platforms have two options here: proclaim themselves in favor of protecting marginalized people or promoting a world where "ideological diversity" is more important than actual diversity and the presence of marginalized people. Pick one.

@eldon , Do you listen to EVERY radio\TV station in your metro area? Do you subscribe to EVERY streaming channel available to you? Do you buy EVERY newspaper or magazine available at the checkout counter?
