Now that I’ve been here for several weeks, my initial thoughts about Mastodon are pretty much the same:
Love that there is no algorithm serving me posts;
Love that there is no QT - that function is more for your audience than actual communication. I like actual conversations;
Love how the need for followers is diminished. I am perfectly happy posting toots in the wind.
Love the thoughtfulness. CW + sensitive images + photo descriptions are all good.
Love not drinking from the fire hose.
@joshsternberg engagement is surprisingly high no matter how many people follow you, the ratio of engagement to followers is off the charts compared to twitter
@anthony i have yet to even look at engagement metrics here. it's nice being oblivious.
