After tonight, if you're a journalist on Twitter, I lose a little bit of respect for you.

@scottmstedman

IMHO, Elon is telling on himself with his claim that journalists are a threat to his life. This is significant because there are no laws or morals when one's life is in danger.

In Elon's mind, Mohammed bin Salman, Peter Thiel, Jeff Bezos, Vladimir Putin, and the entire billionaire boy's club are in agreement about the need to discipline journos. So he's confident right now.

tl;dr: Twitter is a honeypot. It's not a safe place for sensitive communication.

@scottmstedman
Evidence my hunch was correct:

“This case exposes attempts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to illegally obtain personally identifiable information in order to target critics and dissidents,” said Assistant Director Alan E. Kohler Jr. of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division."

This happened yesterday. Please get smart journalists to look into this.

Former Twitter Employee Sentenced to 42 Months in Federal Prison for Acting as a Foreign Agent

A California man was sentenced yesterday to 42 months in federal prison for his role in accessing, monitoring and conveying confidential and sensitive information that could be used to identify and locate Twitter users of interest to the Saudi Royal Family.

@peatbog They were arrested in 2019 and it was covered a lot then.
@scottmstedman Oh cool beans, I was wondering why nobody was talking about it. The Saudis worry me.
