Just signed up for Mastodon. Hope it doesn’t become a dumpster fire like twitter. This feels like that movie where the humans have to go find another planet suitable for life after messing things up on earth.

To be fair, it was just a one human who completely burned Twitter to the ground. It was taking on water quite slowly for a long time before Musk lost his mind and tried to drag the whole world down with him.

@TerranIV @acosta I thought you meant just musk, but then again the whole Twitter universe was pretty much a train wreck so I wasn't sure if you were making a statement about that. You know, musk is just the straw that broke the camel's back

I disagree with that narrative. Twitter had it's problems, but it wasn't a dystopian authoritarian nightmare like it has become this week.
Before Musk, Twitter was trying to be a social network, now it is Musk's private dictatorship.

@TerranIV @acosta fair enough, I thought it was just folks trying to 'own' each other, not civil discourse, maybe because I didn't use it much and it wasn't as important to me.
