@elibosnick hey Eli, I’ve heard you talk about your mental health issues and journey on all your podcasts it seems like. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for resources that have helped you in your journey? I have a family member that is going thru some things and I want to be able to be there for her, is there any advice you could give me that you’d want family members to have?
@peterpiper I think the booming “feeling good” is an excellent primer for conditions that benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy.
*A meditation practice if they haven’t developed one.
*An exercise regimen if appropriate (for endorphins not weight loss)
*track medications carefully: having an exact record of what you tried and at what dose is super important
*don’t be afraid of inpatient care. I know it can seem scary and like locking someone away but inpatient can be amazing for everyone
@elibosnick This is very helpful. I will talk to her. I’ll have to do some research on meditation cuz that’s not something that I’ve practiced before. You’re awesome, thank you!
@peterpiper give the book/app mediation for fidgety skeptics a try. Simple. Readable. Useful. Free of BS
@elibosnick thanks for the suggestion. The Libby app has it so it’s on my list now. Any YouTube channels to suggest my sister? I can see her falling asleep with an audiobook, by her own admittance she can only listen to music and read FB timelines.
