Twitter banned my account for hateful content. This is bullshit. I did not violate those rules.

They provided one tweet as justification for my ban. This tweet said "Being trans is the cure for the mental illness. Not the illness itself." That is not hateful. That is just saying that transitioning is the treatment for gender dysphoria. This is the medical and psychological consensus and I support trans people transitioning. Yet they banned me for saying this and rejected my multiple appeals.

This is obviously some kind of mistake. Unless of course they banned me over a different tweet. But if that's the case, they should have provided it. The tweet they provided me did NOT violate twitter rules against hateful conduct. However, some of the people I was arguing with did. I wonder if they got suspended? I doubt it.

There had to be a way I can get in contact with someone at twitter to sort this out. It's clearly a mistake. This tweet is not hateful and it did not threaten anybody.

I'm so frustrated about this I'm having a lot of trouble focusing on my work.
@CorruptedEden The only fix for Twitter is for people to leave the site. For real, there is no other fix.
@CorruptedEden and yeah, it sucks, and it's not an easily enacted fix, but it doesn't matter if it's the only fix that can work at all.

@CorruptedEden i think the problem might stem from the way you associate the condition with mental illness... if you google for instance « is gender dysphoria a mental disorder » you'll find sources that stress that it is not so, the NHS website for instance :

« Gender dysphoria is not a mental illness, but some people may develop mental health problems because of gender dysphoria. »

[https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/gender-dysphoria/]

flagging the tweet and warning you would have been more appropriate though...

Gender dysphoria

Gender dysphoria is a term that describes a sense of unease that a person may have because of a mismatch between their biological sex and their gender identity.

@poligraf That's a good point.
@CorruptedEden hopefully your account won't be suspended permanently...
@CorruptedEden Even before the Twitter Apocalypse you could get reported and suspended for nothing, because it tripped the algorithm. I had this happen multiple times.
Now there is no hope. Twitter is now heaven for bad actors who can weaponise the algorithm against the inoffensive.
