What's been wild to me is realizing the hints that the influenza pandemic of "1918-1920" really did last longer than two years, are 100% true, and that there is something in human(?) consciousness/survival instinct, that makes people start denying raging plague after two years have passed.
It can't be a policy thing, when they did *the exact same thing* a hundred years ago! The flu pandemic lasted til 1927, and there are current cases (and deaths) from flu, down to this very day!
Edit: And four variants of influenza that circulate each "season" and some jurisdictions with high vulnerable demographics have TWO flu "seasons" PER YEAR.. Because humans are swarming plague rats, apparently.
