Whew. I taught White Collar Crime this fall and am teaching Securities Regulation next semester. So cool that I can build the spring course around the SBF situation. With both the SEC and DOJ cases, this is right in my academic sweet spot.

@jentaub Let me know if you figure out under what circumstances cryptocurrencies and "tokens" are securities!
@jentaub Sounds like it will be a challenge to write a syllabus to keep up with the pace of current events.
@jentaub Isn’t it great to have real-life illustrations? I mean, Bernie Madoff was so “2009.” The shiny new objects, though!
@jentaub Not much meat to the SEC’s case, no? Although they lay out a good narrative, it’s Securities Fraud on VCs?
@jentaub I’d love to read any assigned reading :) This stuff is right at the intersection of Money Laundering and the SEC. I wonder why we don’t see if any of the actual money sources are being brought to justice as well. It feels like this cycle repeats every 15-20 years. (Or perhaps my biases eyes see that pattern).
@jentaub You might enjoy this song written specifically about white collar crime from many years ago. Sorry to say it’s only become worse. https://youtu.be/bWoZV8O7xrI
