@stux I don't love it. I think it lets us off the hook. In letter, yes, free speech as enshrined by the 1st amendment protects us from the US federal government. But what does free speech look like (in spirit) in our other communities and groups? Can a family have free speech? (You can tell your parents a hard truth without them cutting you off?) Can a friendship have free speech? Can a workplace? What does it mean to believe in free speech day to day?
