WTF Twitter, why is Asperger trending? That horrible Nazi that killed autistic children who weren't useful enough!? Asperger's hasn't been a legitimate term for autistic people for 9 years. Of course Elon Musk is associating himself with a Nazi, and making life miserable for the rest of us autistic people by blaming his terrible interests and friends on his "Asperger's". I wish such a vile person wasn't prominent in the autistic world, he's giving all of us that stink by proxy.
@Brixdan while I agree with you, it was only officially taken off the ICD this year.
@amnie That is really horrible. I also have no idea what the ICD is. Is that for Europe?
International Classification of Diseases - Wikipedia

@amnie It's a bit upsetting that the United Nations handbook handled by WHO is 8 years behind on getting rid of Nazi terms than the US. Also upsetting that Canada exclusively uses the American-made DSM...
@Brixdan but as I said, I agree with you. When I originally got that particular diagnosis I read up on it and immediately decided I'd NEVER call myself that. I do understand how some may do still, to a point, but I have huge issues just respecting this particular diagnosis. And honestly, in regards to EM, I am not at all surprised that he has no issues using it and being proud of it, even. Asperger superiority is definitely a thing
@amnie Asperger superiority sounds precisely to the point that Asperger himself separated autism into different "levels". The Nazi's would be so proud /s
@Brixdan heh yeah. It's really a collossally awful shit show and makes you wonder how people could EVER have thought it was a good idea to have that be an official diagnosis to begin with. Some thought processing just makes my brain short circuit
