This #CoatiMonday gift from my darling dear BunnyHugger is a coati carved from a nut (I forget the kind); bits of the shell make the nose. It's precious and beautiful.
The extensions on the snout may represent whiskers (we don't usually have tusks), or might have been something the carver needed to handle the material. I can't say for sure.
I took a bunch of photographs and they all washed out detail. Come over my place and you can get a good look at it.
Comfort this #CoatiMonday, thanks to Alex_J_Cleret on birdsite drawing my common impulse to try and help. It's usually my first impulse and I don't always know, or have much, I can do, but it's there.
Also I really like how I look in purples.

This #CoatiMonday is another gift from my dear bride. It's a rubber stamp that expresses a universal sentiment.
It's one of two stamps made about 15 years ago by Rubber Hedgehog and I set it in the paws of my old NABCO coati plush to give a sense of scale, for those who know how big the NABCO plush is. (The plush is about six inches tall; the stamp is maybe an inch and a half across.)
Another Rubber Hedgehog-made stamp, and gift from my wife, this #CoatiMonday. This stamp has a good bit of use, as my identifying mark for letterboxing.
Letterboxing is a geocaching-like hobby, about finding hidden journals to stamp. Most folks carve their own stamps; I used this because I wasn't sure I would do enough to make carving worthwhile. I should retire this in favor of something homemade, but keep not having the time or energy.
I bring a piece of my own art ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47153051/ ) so #CoatiMonday can properly observe #MerMay. The fish half is loosely based on sturgeons, which you never see used for mermaids, because I'm just like that.
This also was part of what's been my most-accomplished week of FurAffinity uploads. I'm *stunned* and so happy with how close this comes to what it looked like in my head.
My own art again this #CoatiMonday. It's me trying to help Zukaro, the wax robot fox, calm an anxiety that, for them, is actually justified. (They have a hard time dealing with feet.) Original at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47282393/
Zukaro and a lot of melty art are at https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/zukarotravon/
A winner is this #CoatiMonday! LunaTheCute did this line art of Austin having snagged a sandwich. The illustration was a prize won at Furry Bingo this year during Motor City Furry Con and it's a delight to have a fresh picture of me doing one of my favorite activities, bringing joy to whoever just had a sandwich before.
By the way if you ever need cheering up look for videos of 'coati steals sandwich'. You're welcome.
#CoatiMonday today features an old Patreon reward, a postcard sketch by FA/Slickpuppy, from back when I was flush with cash and thought I'd have ideas for monthly sketches forever. (I ran out of ideas after the second month and Slickpuppy suspended his Patreon after that.)
Note the crescent moon on the foreleg there; this is the rare picture showing what I'd once tried to make a motif of my character.
Leaping into summer this #CoatiMonday. This gorgeous picture was generously done by @/[email protected] and shows one of my favorite activities. Original at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47668808/
Being painted is my most idiosyncratic special interest, and I'm happy to have any pictures that showcase it.
This #CoatiMonday is part of a complete breakfast! And thanks to PatchO'Black, on SpinDizzy Muck, whose fun recent paint job landed me this tasty cereal mascoati job. This is another piece of my own art (see https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47863795/ ) but, uh, watch this space.
I'd *love* to do something in the style of 70s Rocky-and-Bullwinkle Cheerios comic book ads, but I lack the expertise in serial cartooning.
It's a summertime #CoatiMonday, as wax robot fox FA/ZukaroTravon and I beat the heat by completely surrendering to it. This is my own illustration, done with a surprisingly successful experiment in digital watercolors, as seen at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/46058800/
I owe Zukaro thanks for rekindling my interest in melting/liquid scenes and getting me to draw them.
Keeping cool this #CoatiMonday, thanks to FA/techno. kindly giving me a lovely marble-and-gold goop coating. Remember to keep the hottest sun off of you!
I don't know that the picture's posted on a proper gallery.
Gosh it sure would be unthinkable and embarrassing if this goop congealed into a solid mass leaving me a statue for the week, wouldn't it?
Enjoying a happy summer shower this #CoatiMonday with my own art, and experiment in drawing weather.
Done partly as Vahno-on-Birdsite was encouraging about my shiny art and my big fat foot-covering boots, so I looked for an excuse to do a little more of that. I'm sure it's a wild coincidence that I come out looking as shiny as the rubber boots and yellow hat here. Also because /@balloonpup has a lot of rubber characters who wear rain gear and I wanted in.
Enjoy seeing less of me this #CoatiMonday as I get into the invisible paint. This was fun but hard, because I had to keep thinking about what to show. The paint bucket particularly made my head hurt to think about.
I drew the snout differently this time, with more of a Preston Blair influence. Not sure if it works, but it's got a fun line to it.
A gifted #CoatiMonday; this is one of a sweet set of vinyl coati stickers my dear bride gave as an anniversary present.
I haven't decided what I'll do with the stickers beyond appreciating them and the desire to share them with me.
Having a bit of fun hanging out poolside with @/Eon, your inflatable friend, this #CoatiMonday! Also with one of those padlock stickers that people are so silly about putting on null toys. Anyway look how happy toy is hanging out like this.
My own art and wow but I feel good about how this came out.
CW: mindplay/hypnosis theme; consenting but one might read it as accidental.
Keeping cool again this #CoatiMonday, thanks to FA/techno. who didn't just draw this in marble-and-gold (that I shared months ago) but also did this blue-and-purple variant. Remember to keep the hottest sun off of you!
I don't know that the picture's posted on a proper gallery.
A statuesque #CoatiMonday as I share my own picture of me somehow a block of living marble. It's a fun way to hang out and prank pigeons!
A while back someone messing around on FurryMuck flashed me with a Medusa Head, with no idea that I was going to run with that. You never expect how many people will ask why you're able to move and talk and all. I choose to think they're worried for me rather than wishing I were inert.
One of my own doodles this #CoatiMonday, depicting one of the minor burdens of having such a great tail: fans who'll want it all for themselves. Yes, it's a struggle, but I endure it because it is worth the struggle.
Going for a good stretch this #CoatiMonday. I have an elastic side I don't play enough and I'm trying to get that fixed. So this picture is based on the title panel for the story 'Bubble Gum' in Plastic Man #11, https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=19957 page 15.
I posted it at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49082066/ too. It's made me realize there's potential in ripping off^W^W studying Jack Cole's work for my own use.
Isn't that always the way? You find a great @Eon costume for a Halloween #CoatiMonday and then Eon is nowhere to be found.
Toy was so kind as to let me put it on, and draw this, as you can see at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49430374/ and this is one of the rare pictures where I'm just happy at how *everything* came out. A picture is never quite how you imagine it'll look, but this came much closer than anything else I've drawn the past month.
Another of my own illustrations this #CoatiMonday --- https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49695354/ --- of me with my favorite person, my wife. Drawn as a small gift for her birthday this past week.
A long while ago she mentioned a passing fancy of holding a tiny me and I finally illustrated it. (Somehow I usually tend to be the giant one.) You can pick whether this is a giant BunnyHugger or a tiny me, or both.
For this #CoatiMonday please enjoy two porcelain coati figures, apparently the same mould but slightly different after being fired. And painted.
The naturalistic-colored one was a gift from my dear bride to me months ago and I've shown it before. The Delft-style one on the right is one she bought recently and for herself.
Any resemblance to a before-and-after petrifaction sequence is coincidental.
For #CoatiMonday I repeat myself, sharing a dancing picture I did for Charles Schulz's centennial, seen also at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49974562/
Peanuts is the oldest thing I remember being a fan of; I can't remember a time before I could read and what I read was this comic strip. I can't say how happy I am to be able to draw a decent picture of Snoopy myself.
Sharing a gift from my wife an a souvenir from Mexico City this #CoatiMonday. The coati magnet and the thought balloon are gifts from dear BunnyHugger. The goldfish-shaped magnet with the rabbit that's suspiciously close to her look on it is a souvenir she picked up back in 2018.
The fridge they are on is a Kenmore picked up from the Sears down the road in 2019 after we thought carefully about whether they'd be around the whole twelve-month warranty lifespan. They were not.
For the last #CoatiMonday before Christmas the finest of all possible gifts, me! This picture of a coa-tree was inspired by @Chiaroscuro and was a fun idea.
My own art, posted up at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50236689/
Happy #CoatiMonday! Did you catch me in the parade? Well, if you missed it, here's my own rendition of the scene.
Original at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49947805/ and yeah, I drew it in time for the (US) Parade Day back in November but other stuff took my Monday publication slots, so this seemed like a good secondary day.
Happy 'Roo Year? Wait, that's not supposed to happen! This is #CoatiMonday! What's with the fat toes? The floppy ears? The pinkness? The --- ooh, free pouch! Okay! But seriously why is Roofus_roo's toy that I'm sharing for her so broken that it's doing something like *this*?
My own holiday art; original at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50450175/
A surprisingly rare transformation picture from me, considering how much I like the theme.
I'm helpful this #CoatiMonday! Vahno's been content or even happy as a Free Will Drone, but they still have some adjustments to make in not having a face or mouth or such.
Free Will Drones are an idea we've been roughing out, and it's like you think, a rubber drone that isn't compelled to be someone's toy or maid or such. Just someone with low initiative and less intense personality. They enjoy it, in their way.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50425363/
I look like a Muppet here.
Ever have one of those #CoatiMonday days where you're trying to get somewhere and a mysteriously context-free hoist is taking advantage of your natural elasticity? So *rude*.
My own art, at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50614269/ and a rare moment of me drawing a not-generic emotion! I'm very happy with how this came out.
A bit of a redraw #CoatiMonday for me as I revisit the 'Austin in galoshes' look. I like the idea and am trying to get a handle on avoiding drawing paws by covering them in things. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50717135/ for my upload of this to FurAffinity, or https://blimps.xyz/@Austin_Dern/108708906162261316 for the earlier take.
Sure is weird those boots are blushing, huh? Wonder how that sort of thing comes about.
An extraordinarily innocent #CoatiMonday today as I finally do a picture matching me up with one of my favorite fictional animals, Eugene the Jeep! And, as you can see, we have not been up to *anything* and are very glad you spotted us right here and now!
Back to my own art this #CoatiMonday, about that time I got to box @Eon! Toy's always so kind to go along with my silly ideas like this.
This one I feel like I did the folds and shine lines on Eon's face unusually well; so much of pooltoy art is about these little streaks of dark and light to suggest the material. A dark line with a light line on the layer underneath does *so* much.
Having a rock solid time this #CoatiMonday! Please enjoy a piece of my own art of getting to look incredibly lifelike, just a work of art, thanks to my discovering the star-filter brush on Procreate. Original picture at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51083272/
I agree, it's very peculiar that this sort of thing would just happen to me for no reason and that I'd look this happy about it.
Having a brilliant time this #CoatiMonday! A picture of a stained-glass cat sculpture that was going around here ( https://mstdn.social/@BadgerBadger/109927273293059764 ) left me figuring I could do that too, and so here I did. Original at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51225687/ for your reference.
I loved doing this and want to do more with translucent textures. Will probably revisit the theme now that I've learned some things about how to do it.
Attached: 1 image I've been saving this for #caturday but also because I have a thing for stained glass animals Edit - not my work, I just like it
An expert opinion this #CoatiMonday as @hexadoodle, professional limb appreciator, examines one of the many understated wonders of the coati form, our naturally reversible feet! Raccoons and squirrels have the same arrangement and it's fun when someone discovers that.
My own art ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51301935/ ) and my most challenging picture yet as there's *three* hands touching stuff.
And thanks to Hexadoodle for letting me play with a wonderful frog who is just *so* *much* *fun* to draw.
Hi, plush.city! Embarrassed to realize I failed to ever share this so I'll make it up this #CoatiMonday. I was having a soft time a month and a half ago and figured what I might look like as a plush doll and really liked how it came out. The draw string particularly is a *powerful* energy. My own art, here.
I'm embarrassed I forgot not only that Chase *had* posted this to his FurAffinity but I'd even commented on it there!
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51433006/ for the original picture.
Let me tickle your fancies this #CoatiMonday! Or you can tickle mine. Here I drew one of my wildest fantasies, that of my dear bride BunnyHugger feeling absolutely free to tickle me because I enjoy it even if she does not understand how someone might like being tickled. Also, yes, I am ticklish enough in reality that people waving their fingers at me will cause me to giggle.
Original art at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51480211/
I hope this #CoatiMonday that folks feel the delight I have in getting to enjoy eggs and lots of painting things strange colors. My own art, posted at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51714932/ for stable reference.
Several weeks back someone on SpinDizzy ( https://muck.spindizzy.org/ ) painted me pink, 'with pink bunny ears' and so that's why I've got more ears than usual. You know how it is when you're oddly susceptible to being painted.
It's a party-ready #CoatiMonday today! inflatessimal@birdsite was so good as to draw me as a mylar balloon, helium-filled and ready to join whatever the celebration is!
Love those seams, love those scallops, and love the rare chance to see a mylar version of me.
Enjoy the happy evanescence of a delicate #CoatiMonday! I knew that this soap-bubble commission from @frengers was going to be one of the best I ever got, but underestimated just how exquisite it would be.
This is so much a puff of air slightly contained in films of soap and water that it's a joy however long I look at it.
New month, new slapstick! After the sublime last #CoatiMonday FA/Lunara-Toons helped me get in touch with my cartoon side with an image based on a scene from the 1939 Merrie Melody _Porky's Tire Trouble_ (https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7xefuj at about 5:20). It's a great moment of stretchy, rubbery action. Being purple was Lunara-Toons's inspiration but it nicely fits my interest in being novel colors.
Original art at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51808572/
@Austin_Dern heck, this is cute
we should talk to vahno more
-F
@Hearth Aw, glad you like!
And yeah, I know they'd be glad chatting with you more.
@Austin_Dern That does look rather cozy, though I may be biased.
The real trick is how you wrapped yourself up so snugly, unless you got some help.
