Will check in on Twitter, but I am going to start posting on http://Post.news and/or Mastadon (which one is doing better, open to suggestions!): I am @[email protected] on both. @[email protected] is a monster and I do not want to produce content for a company he owns & uses to cause harm.

@DavMicRot Post has done nothing to fix the central problem with most social media - centralized ownership and control.
@DavMicRot Isn’t Post just journalist talking to other journalist? I don’t know any average Joe on it. Can you read it without being a member?
@justplanty I have been on Post since the first week. I am a Democrat who shares candidate info, and useful info. There are lots of "average Joes on there now."
@deemoney521 Good to know. I’m still on the waiting list.
@DavMicRot I’m in both. Mastodon has more news, which I like. Post is mostly pets still. They’re both growing up. My decision hasn’t been made yet.
@DavMicRot In terms of ease of use, I suspect Post will do extremely well once it gets out of Beta

@DavMicRot

I hope you continue to post on Mastodon.

@DavMicRot Is there any way to read Post posts without an account? If not, I consider that disqualifying.

@DavMicRot
Which is doing better? Here's a test I've seen a few others try:

Post the exact same thing on both Post and Mastodon. Don't say that you're doing so; just post something you'd normally post anyway. Then wait 24 hours and compare the engagement quantity and quality on each.

Every time I've seen someone do this, Mastodon has beaten Post for engagement hands-down. But we might be missing any posts showing contrary results, since they're less likely to be boosted here.

@DavMicRot I’m on both…but Mastodon is my preference. Well established, less divisive chatter, reaches a vast audience.
