The J6C committee met today to begin discussions about referrals. It would be quite the anti-climax not to refer Trump; I can't see it. Thanks as always @[email protected] for having me at the table to discuss.

@harrylitman Does making the referral from the committee politicize it? Is Trump likely to be indicted or should we expect that to come from the stolen documents case?

@GoldenRuleLover @harrylitman Thatā€™s sort of what I was thinking. Not that they shouldnā€™t refer criminal matters to DOJ, but itā€™s DOJā€™s job to do it in the first place. A referral should be for things they might have overlooked. This is the obvious stuff and for the legislature to be initiating a criminal matter is not how it is supposed to work.
