Mastodon is a nice decentralized system. The rules are set by your community's server management. And I don't think those will be oppressive like Spaceboy's are getting to be.
What's your impression with Mastodon?
Some clients are harder than others, I think. I'm using a server branded client based on Mastodon's app. It can be difficult, but better than others I tried.

sure, just find one. let the operator of the one you are on now know so they can send all your posts over to the new one.
