'tis the season for accumulating PAK'nSAVE vouchers from all the community groups I've volunteered for this year.

here's the thing -- I have no idea how PAK'nSAVE works, I always seem to be being told off at the checkout -- there are some rules somewhere but I have no idea how it works so I always make sure I only have one or two items I can carry and then get out. That and the zero masks.

I guess that's one reason get all my food from community collectives and gardens and food box.

SUPERMARKETS HOW DO THEY WORK AND WHERE DID YOU LEARN THIS?

Most of the time I'm going there to get pak'n'save vouchers for other volunteer groups. it's a whole economy ain't it?

did some maths -- i got a whole 80c (of paknsave vouchers) per hour for the volunteer work -- so it is still volunteering?

i used to know how to paknsave when I was a student. You pay for your yellow plastic bags and then pack them as they scan.

BUT THE RULES ALL CHANGED NOW

@Br3nda Is this for the self checkout thingees?

Because I'm convinced they're not made for people to use. They're constantly having a fit about item not being placed in the packing area or too many items ending up there. I can't, for example, scan one can of canned tomatoes and tell it that I have 20 of the damn things. I have to work around it's idea of ideal weights for bags etc.

@nevynh I can't work out the self checkouts. They always take more time than the old express checkouts.

@Br3nda I know it’s a busy time of year for them, & maybe they have to do extra shifts to cover for people off sick due to covid, but there is no excuse for aggression.
