I am forcing myself to learn kubernetes as part of setting up a new set of fediverse instances (mastodon/peertube,pixelfed,matrix, etc) using a common authentication provider and I’m coming to realize the kubernetes must have been a practical joke that went way too far.
@jerry When you go far enough down the rabbit hole you begin to understand why all of the layers of abstraction make sense if you’re running a large suite of web services depending on an even bigger set of internal-only (not-necessarily-“micro”) services all running at vast scale. Then you say, but wait, I’m not Google, and I’m not trying to solve that problem.
