@genealogy I have recently inherited thousands of old family photos. I want to scan and then share these with my siblings and other relatives. Any advice for a good, easy tool/app/site to share the photos?

hi Rich, have a chat with @Ponga

https://ping.ponga.com/

I think they might be able to help.

Ponga | Picture your stories

A better way to organize, capture and share the stories you find in old family photographs. Perfect for #FamilyHistory and #Genealogy buffs.

@david @genealogy @richsandler  why thank you kindly for the introduction, David! Hello, Rich, I'm @barbaratien, one of the co-founders here at Ponga.com and usually on duty in our live chat. Just pop on by or hit me up in the DMs. Sometimes I'm tied up, but I'll get back to you just as quickly as I can. (Especially with David's fine intro!) ☺️
@richsandler
Sorry can't resist: create #WikiTree profiles and attach the photos to them. Flickr might also be an idea.

@richsandler @genealogy I also recommend Google Photos or if you are on Facebook, you might want to consider creating a private family group page.
@richsandler @genealogy I inherited my mother’s photo collection, I created a siblings Google account and I am progressively uploading them to Google photos.

Hey Rich, another thought:

These images form a tapestry of your shared family history.
To respect that, think like a museum and separate the archive and access functions from curation and storytelling.

Google, Apple, or similar site is fine to archive and share access. Ponga builds on that to give you and your siblings a private space where you can sort through the faces and names, and tell stories of your shared past.

(See Ponga.com/scan too 😉.)
