It is both transactional and adversarial though sadly. If you did nothing for her she gone (and I think your wife has great empathy and moral compass really do like her). If you want to smoke dope and drink beer with the homeys and stay out late before brunch with her parents then will get in trouble. It's that simple. Do you communicate with any of her ex boyfriends?
