In all seriousness: it is terrifying that owner of major social network is handing over all private data of employees, customers, users to right-wing extremists in order to sow disinformation against democracy.
@DavMicRot Now would be a great time for pro-democracy legislatures to put laws on the books that would make this illegal going forward. Companies that collect and monetize PII shouldn’t be able to do with it as they please just because the ownership goes private. New owners should be bound by the existing TOS that pre-existing users agreed to.
@DavMicRot I left the day he walked in the office with his sink. If you trust him with your data, don’t check your mailbox for your Mensa invite. I just wish I could retroactively scrub my data…
@DavMicRot and here's the case for a US GDPR. We need to be able to force companies to delete data, especially before a sale. Any sale should have to have a minimum notice date, longer than the max time to delete.
