Evelyn in Montreal

This horse and sleigh “distributing the Christmas mail in Montreal” is from the weekly Montreal Standard (1905-1951).
It reminds me of my father's memories growing up in Montreal's poor Point St. Charles district in the '20s and '30s. He used to reminisce about how he would run along behind a horse drawn cart grabbing any pieces of coal that might fall off of the back.

@evelyntheriault : Snow isn't guaranteed in the Boston area for Christmas. But I understand that people used to look forward to changing over to sleighs because they were a smoother ride on rough pavement.
