If Republicans want to put forward the idea that it’s been hard to staff the military and this is their reason for repealing vaccination requirements, wait until they try staffing when wide Covid outbreaks hit people working together overseas and in close quarters.
The vaccines prevent spread for a certain amount of time so we have occasional boosters or boosters that can cover new variants. What the vaccines also can do is keep you from getting very ill. Even people who are as healthy as serving members of the military often get quite ill and even die from this disease. And the vaccine reduces that risk by upwards of 90%. And the numbers are early, but it seems to reduce incidences of long COVID.
But no sense in pretending anything Republicans do is pro-service members or pro-health. Never is.
