So we’re moving to a new, more spacious #flat soon, and I want to have a political world map covering an entire wall. That’s been a desire of mine for a while.

Does anyone know a place online to order such a gigantic poster? Or, do you know where I could find a very high-res #map of the world that I can chop, print, and stick on the wall piece by piece?

(I live, and will continue to live, in the #Madrid metropolitan area, #Spain.)

@tripu If you're willing to go the trouble, laser cutting and engraving mdf or plywood sheets with separate continents should be quite inexpensive (esp. If there's a maker space nearby), then you can glue or double-side tape to the wall (being careful with contiment positioning), also quite aesthetically pleasing :)

@tripu My pleasure, whatever you do -- please avoid Mercator projection in favor of something more modern (and in a way, geographically representative)! I think it's particularly good to have equal area (unless you specifically and transparently want to focus on a certain region). I think a Lambert azimuthal disk map would look really cool, although for more traditional Winkel III (chosen by National Geographic) is also nice. #map
