I understand the “accepted” rationale for there being two senators per state — to ensure that the less populous ones are represented in government — however with demographic changes over the past decades we now basically have “over-correction” and a tyranny of the minority.

As many others have proposed, at a minimum the Electoral College should be abolished and the President elected by a simple count of votes.
