It was totally predictable. I wrote predicted this in my 2017 post, "The Emerging Health Care Reality Crisis" - with maps!

I wrote: "Clearly there are vast sections of the population today who do not believe in science. They donā€™t believe in facts. They donā€™t believe in much other than what they want to believe in.

Their belief system will increasingly drive their attitude & understanding of their healthcare circumstances"

@maxboot No surprise. My 80-yr-old mother in law watches Fox all day and has absorbed their anti-vax paranoia ... she's been lucky so far because she doesn't go out much. But there's no question she's willingly put herself at higher risk of dying from Covid. And there are a LOT of folks like her in our area (Ohio).

@maxboot i have lived all but 2.5 of my 66 years in Ohio and hear me when I tell you: itā€™s pretty screwed up here and there donā€™t appear to be any quick remedies. Expect Ohio to slide further down the rails and become increasingly dumb and disempathetic.

@maxboot being from an extremely gerrymandered state, Ohio, and one where it totally doesnā€™t matter to the state representatives, Rā€™s, to follow the law, this is the best news!! We Dā€™s may outlive them long enough to flip this state back to blue! So the Rā€™s can continue to ignore the vaccines and those of us that do care about rule of law, will continue to get the vaccine!
