@atomicpoet
Crap. What about those still using both?

@thekat03 Maybe you love to hate computers.

Or maybe you hate to love computers.

@atomicpoet @thekat03 I love computers. I love that they give you the tools to create, visualise, control very complicated processes, the list goes on. They do also have a small added function. Communication. But I think mobile phones have taken a large step forward to offer that functionality so we tend to use that more so for this purpose, like I am now. My computer is my work station.
@BigD @thekat03 I tend to think mobile phones are actually mobile computers.
@atomicpoet @BigD @thekat03 I remember getting my first smartphone and realising that it wasn't a phone with apps on it but actually a computer, with all the admin work that that implies, with a phone app running on it. That's unavoidable for smartphones but too many things are computers now. Nobody wants to load security updates on a fridge or update the firmware on a lightbulb and, no, the toaster may not have an IP address.
@DanielRigal @atomicpoet @thekat03 @BigD I’m so old that my first smartphone was a Dell Axim tethered to a Motorola flip phone.
@DanielRigal @atomicpoet @BigD @thekat03 but, but, but... what will force you to upgrade your fridge / toaster / car if they can't simply sunset security updates for it?
