@atomicpoet@thekat03 I love computers. I love that they give you the tools to create, visualise, control very complicated processes, the list goes on. They do also have a small added function. Communication. But I think mobile phones have taken a large step forward to offer that functionality so we tend to use that more so for this purpose, like I am now. My computer is my work station.
@atomicpoet@BigD@thekat03 I remember getting my first smartphone and realising that it wasn't a phone with apps on it but actually a computer, with all the admin work that that implies, with a phone app running on it. That's unavoidable for smartphones but too many things are computers now. Nobody wants to load security updates on a fridge or update the firmware on a lightbulb and, no, the toaster may not have an IP address.
