The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) today filed a lawsuit to block Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

@thurrott Yeaaa. I'm from Sweden so from a swedish point of view (with little or no lobbying and corruption) I don't se the sarcasm in that. But as a TWIT listener I do belive there is some? Am i right

@Lennmor Actually, I don't mean that sarcastically. U.S. antitrust is about protecting American consumers from harm. Not about protecting a competitor ... that isn't even American. And won't even be harmed regardless.

@thurrott Okey I can follow that. But if that competitor lobbys the regulators to protect US citizens against a deal that in no (to me anyway) way harms the citizens of the US but only benifits the competitor. Isn't that a major problem? Or am I missing something?
