The fact that Russia is taking hostages, and bartering them to free Putin's criminal associates, absolutely should make people angry, whatever their politics or nationality! However, it should make them angry at Putin, NOT at Griner or at Biden. Griner was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Biden was just doing what it took to secure the freedom of an innocent American, which meant having to agree to this distasteful deal. Trump would never have lifted a finger!
