If anybody is wondering what you're missing on twitter, a bunch of irredeemable cunts figured out a way to be mad that #BrittneyGriner has been freed from a fascist labor camp she was sent to for the crime of exactly nothing and are typing this anger furiously because of how virtuous and Christian they are.
Right-wing Christians like to bemoan steady ongoing reduction of the numbers Americans identifying as Christian or even religious but I wonder if the standard evangelical position of "absolute fucking horrors and gross injustice are good things" has something to do with it.
I was raised Christian and read a TON of the Bible and I'll be squarely fucked if I can find the passage where Jesus says "Lo, I say unto you, make sure you recruit a bunch of pallid malevolent tribalist assholes because nothing advertises God's message of love, forgiveness and tolerance better than angry bigots spending every single fucking day of their lives sending threats of violence to people for being marginally different."
@GrimmReality King James version on page 1,361
@RADC True story: Someone in my immediate family is aggressively bigoted against all non-King James versions of the Bible and everyone who reads them.
@GrimmReality Spooky then that you bring up that one quote on that one missing page eh
@RADC @GrimmReality Which is weird given that it was itself a translation made centuries after the original collection of stories, lists, poems & letters was put together.
@Susan60 @GrimmReality It actually says that in its title It’s King James’ version of the others Who doesn’t get that?!?
@Susan60 @RADC Oh I promise you she's not capable of making this particular prejudice make any kind of rational sense. You can bring up that papertrail and the evangelicals just say "Cuz ineffable magic, duh."
