A reminder that Paul Whelan was detained by Russia in 2018 during the Trump administration. Despite Trump’s obsequiousness to Putin, he failed to bring Whelan home. It’s clear many on the right are using Whelan’s name to denigrate Griner, which is disrespectful to both of them.

Terry Seas@Joel_Lessing @MeidasTouch MSM sure liked to overtook the facts on Whelan. He was court martialed and Dishonorably discharged with a Bad Conduct Discharge for stealing funds. I am retired Navy and he is no hero and they sure like to leave that fact out when comparing him to Griner. Disgusting. Google him. It's all there. Have two navy veteran younger brothers past that crap comparing Griner to Whelan on Facebook. Called them on it. Posted the facts and they removed the posts.
