@Melzpetpals @anneapplebaum what is so bizarre to me is that no one has developed a far-fetched conspiracy theory about how there has been a global rise in the fascist right spurred by rich global oligarchs - all of whom would seem to be the most likely to benefit from such a rise, especially if the US stops policing the world’s bad actors.
