We got a bit too much snow today in #Trondheim 🇳🇴, so my way home was covered in 40 cm snow. That also lead to the roads being unusable for many vehicles.
@coderbyheart It's beautiful! I'm surprised to see that bus struggle - was the snow that unexpected?
It's not like snow is uncommon where you are, so I expected the bus companies to be prepared better
@the_qa_guy
Not unexpected, only a lot at once in a storm like weather, mostly intense during afternoon rush hour. Basically, for a period, clearing the snow had little practical effect.
@coderbyheart
@the_qa_guy Not unexpected, but it's hard to estimate the actual amounts of snow. And sometimes it's fine, but this afternoon it was just too much: you have ice on the street and the snow on top just clogs tires and slips on the road. Buses drive on the main roads which are usually OK to drive on.
@coderbyheart I went out from the office 16.10, saw my bus wasn't arriving in at least 20 minutes, took an alternate route, but up in Byåsen where I planned to switch to a bus taking me home, it didn't arrive. Took alternative metro-bus some of the way, found out that the bus I planned to take had taken a different route. I then ended up walking the rest of the way about 2,5km
@larsivi Yeah, my way home was also not as planned. But fun, nevertheless!
@coderbyheart Beautiful! A little hint because it happened to me: Clear the snow off the front of your camper before it warms up again, otherwise the window vipers might snap from the weight.
