A little better from the Boston Globe, but still...

I’m not getting my full news fix on Mastodon yet. It’s quicker to show me breaking stories than Post, but nowhere near Twitter’s virtually instantaneous feed.

@mastodonmigration I guess that's because Twitter is centralised whereas Mastodon is federated? There's room for increased latency there, particularly with the instance servers under suddenly increased demand during the migration. Hopefully things will settle down in time.
