@zette caption is visible annotation for an image. Alt text is the replacement to show in case the image cannot be rendered.

alt - as screen readers won't render the image. We are talking HTML, right?

@raccoon hmmmm, you’ve surpassed my fluency level with your HTML question 🤔 I’m relatively new to Masto and wanted to be sure that by including the alt text I was making my images accessible. Thank you, you’ve definitely answered that part of my question.

@zette In that case: doesn't matter at all. Just attach the image, click on edit, there's a text field there, write whatever someone should read who can't see the picture.
