@filmcritic I will never forget, years ago, I had worked a night shift in the intensive care unit and had stayed awake the next day to care for our 4yr old child. That evening, she fell and broke her arm. By 02:00hrs she had had it pinned. Senior anaesthetist and surgeons at work. It cost us not a bean and we didn’t have to even consider cost. And the kindness of my colleagues! My goodness, when we felt so in need of help, did I value our precious NHS that day! We must protect it!

@lizhogbin @filmcritic protect it at all costs! Because once large for-profit companies get involved, you’ll never get it back. Must be nice not having to worry if you’ll receive a large bill after you get medical attention because your insurance company decided you went to the wrong facility or were treated by the wrong doctor. Yup, a person in need is somehow supposed to figure all of that out beforehand here in the US.
