In Texas an Sri Lanken-American named Rajan Moonsinghe got a gun to protect his home. Suspecting a burglar he stood on his front porch. Cops arrived unannounced & shot him dead in less than 1 sec. And the NRA is silent. This is a trend.

Before Rajan, when cops killed Tamir Rice for a toy gun in an open carry state—NRA was 🤐. When cops killed legal gun owner Philando Castille, NRA was 🤐. But when Rittenhouse killed 2 people, NRA called him " a warrior for gun owners!”

2A doesn't apply to BIPOC.

@QasimRashid True. Most rights, laws & policies are applied quite differently for POC. To the detriment of the person of color.

@SearinglyAaron @QasimRashid Oh they *absolutely* get treated worse than the rest of us! But part of the situation that many rich/white/male/straight R voters don't get is that racist actions like this are a detriment to *their* lives as well. They just don't realize it (which is why they often continue to turn a blind eye to racist policies and actions).

@SearinglyAaron @QasimRashid In 1975 Toni Morrison said "The function, the very serious function of racism is distraction." In this case, it distracts R voters from the fact that the policies they vote for harm them deeply, for the benefit of the very, very rich and powerful.
