Asthma inhalers can really bring me out of a work of fiction. Just watched a show where a character used an orange inhaler - the most common steroid inhaler “Flovent” is orange. Not a rescue inhaler, something you take in the middle of an asthma attack.

In fact, since mediations are often given distinctive colors so they can be identified when taking a history (“I can’t remember the name, but it was blue.”) there likely ISN’T a rescue inhaler in orange!

Don’t get me started on fake inhaling.

Watching that show just now, I saw that orange inhaler and thought, “Oh, that’s Flovent,” even though I haven’t taken Flovent in years.

And, I’ve held a grudge against “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle” for years because of the obvious non-inhaling the actor did. The inhaler was inches from his mouth - no medicine could have been inhaled.
