BARDO (2022, dir. Iñárritu): On a moment-by-moment basis, Bardo is dazzling. Iñárritu shoots most of the film in wide angle, allowing you to see the full detail of every one of his fantastical locations and tableaus. I legitimately think his work is helping to push forward the art of cinema.

But also, I can understand why this movie would be unbearable to most people. 159 mins of tortured introspection with the barest of plots to speak of. Sure is pretty though.
