@TimHarford @pluralistic @doctorow that is a really depressing read about the history of DRM and I’d like to think unintended consequences - but I rather fear it is fully intended consequences.

@pluralistic @doctorow @TimHarford @Tengrain I’m wondering if their reach and grasp has extended beyond what they first envisaged - there seem to be so many more ways to Nicole and dime customers now than when it was first introduced.

But also, I’m naively hoping that businesses aren’t as bad as they show them to be - while being grateful for those that go full ‘Tron’ and fight for the users!
