@martin_fff go for it. I would certainly keep the original, so you can turn it back into the original state. Simply because of the crazy resale market right now.

But I am always amazing how much difference even little changes, like getting a new strap, can make to an old watch. I start wearing them a lot more often and look more closely. Almost like I just bought it again.

Also love the champagne coloured dial. These were so popular at the time. Hope that colour makes a comeback.
