The only time I've ever been to #Senegal the immigrations officers at the airport thought my British passport was a forgery. So they locked me up for 2 days and then deported me. To Ivory Coast!

And yet I'm not sure who I want to win this match. #ENGvSEN

@davidnjoku Glad you're ok. I want to know more, but it's not my business:-) (this is one of my fears when traveling)...this post will live rent free in my luggage from this day forward:-)
@Koritsi It was nearly 30 years ago. I don't really know what happened but I think it was a combination of British passports issued in Nigeria having a different font for some reason, the officer not knowing that there are black people in Britain(!), and me not giving a bribe.
My flight had had a stopover in Ivory Coast on the way there, which is why they deported there.
I spent another day locked up in Ivory Coast before everything was sorted out and I returned home. With a story to tell 😊
@davidnjoku Yes, story to tell, there's a book/movie in there for sure:-)
