The incoming GOP majority is going to try and discredit the work of the Jan. 6 Committee. Remember the courage of honorable conservatives like Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger when the extremists begin their assault. They had nothing to gain by opposing their party and Trump, and everything to lose. But they stood up anyway for the rule of law and for democracy.

Liz Chaney is vociferously anti-LGBTQ+. She doesn't get a pass because she isn't as much of a fascist as the rest of the party.

She voted for one piece of legislation that also included codification of interracial marriage. Otherwise her messaging has been identical since day one.

@graygoogirl @georgetakei At the end of the day, she's a doctrinaire conservative. She's also taken some heat for trying to keep the J6 report focused entirely on Trump while downplaying how other conservatives aided and abetted Trump. It's important to keep the distinction between those who are conservative (Cheney) and those who are corrupt (Aileen Cannon)...

I don't believe that distinction matters. A person who cares for democracy over fascism but still sees people like myself as the lesser is not worthy of my respect. She shouldn't get a gold star for doing the bare minimum expected of politicians in a democratic society.
