This big boy showed up during daylight hours today. He is massive compared to everyone else who comes for dinner. There is a hierarchy to how things are done in nature. He eats first, and everyone knows it, but they still try to sneak a bite in, only to be chased off by him.
@BlackSheepBeth Wow! I used to put out cracked corn for the wild turkeys, but I attracted a bobcat, who was stalking them, and then a big mama bear and her cub, after a snowstorm. The tracks were fresh and came from a long ways away in the woods. Bears 🐻 get hungry in the winter, and sometimes come out of hibernation on mild days.
@SallyFileas I haven't seen bear or bobcat with my eyes, but I know they're here! I've heard bobcats in the summertime, and people in town have seen bears. I'm hoping one day I actually get to see one.
@BlackSheepBeth
Reminds me of deer around here, brazenly grazing in people's yards within town limits. Aussie deer.
@CoachMark
@VileNibblet @CoachMark There has been a huge herd in my neighborhood this year, and lots of fawns. There was a set of twins born in the yard behind me, and I have spent the summer watching them grow up. This one was only hours old in this photo. 💜
