Dr Manu Saunders@alexwild echoing others, that is a huge oversimplification and I think unfair to a lot of people. Twitter (as it was) had/has immense value and is an important community/lifesaver/info source etc for many people, unlike any other social media system. Mastodon is nice, but not replaceable in so many ways. Speaking for myself, many of us still waiting at the bird cautiously hoping for change
@manusaunders where will that change come from, though? Twitter itself is not going to push for any positive change under Musk.
@alexwild i honestly don't know and I'm struggling with my own feels about it all. But I think it is unfair to call it an 'all or nothing' situation when it's a lot more complex and there's no viable alternative for many people right now
