Is »CSS Engineer« now a job position? — Anselm Hannemann

@sturobson @helloanselm kind of disagree with this. CSS frameworks are in wide spread use. You don’t need to learn the intricacies to work with it. Nearly everything a react engineer needs to know about CSS could be learned in ~4hrs.

The only exception I would make is companies at the FAANG level where every little bit of efficiency is eked out. Even then, the CSS engineer would need a fair amount of JavaScript knowledge to be effective.

@pdenya @sturobson @helloanselm that's selling css short. CSS engineers can absolutely bring value to companies by implementing layout systems that frameworks still can't do effectively.
Also, have you seen how spaghetti the css of your average online shop is? Someone gotta clean that up, and I don't see full stack people doing it.
