Glen Etive in Scotland has fantastic dark skies when the weather is clear, however the looming mountains greatly reduce the area of sky available to you. A bit of pre planning allowed me the opportunity to photograph the Milky Way between two mountains as its core set on the horizon. I used a Nisi Natural Night filter to help reduce the light pollution appearing just above the mountains.

@andy_morehouse Been wanting a shot of the milky way over etive mor for a long time but not had conditions for ages and have never had any luck going north, it's amazing how far the light pollution from Glasgow travels. Great shot and glad to see it's possible
@dale it’s definitely possible, we just don’t get many nights as clear as this!
@dale @andy_morehouse there is a good spot western Australia that is being reserved as a light free zone
@StephenC @andy_morehouse yeh we have a big dark sky park to the south but I prefer the landscape up north
@andy_morehouse that’s amazing I would love to see that !
@andy_morehouse fantastic. What did you shoot this with?
@P4UL Thanks! This was shot with a Canon Eos R and a Canon 15-35mm RF lens.
@andy_morehouse this is an absolutely stunning photo. Humbling and marvelous for the soul.
