@donncha I might try to revive my blog presence and@do some #IndieWeb stuff. What plugins are you using?

@dougal I'm using the Webmention plugin which appears to do something similar to pingbacks.

I also use the ActivityPub and Webfinger plugins to get my blog on the Fediverse. Here's my blog post about it. https://odd.blog/2022/11/06/how-to-add-your-blog-to-mastodon/

However, my federated posts don't get many people interacting with them. On the other hand, I've had some nice conversations when I share them through this account.

How to add your blog to Mastodon

Introduction Before we start, do you know what Mastodon is? It’s sort of like email, where you can send an email from gmail.com to a yahoo.com account, except it looks very like Twitter. This…

Something Odd!
@donncha Thanks, I’ll check those out first!
@dougal If you haven't run across it yet, and would like a superset with some additional ideas so that you can pick and choose what works best for you and the site, there's some reasonable overview and documentation at https://indieweb.org/WordPress
If you run into issues or have questions, there's a sizeable community at chat.indieweb.org where many of the plugin authors are around.

IndieWeb

@chrisaldrich @donncha Thanks! I took a quick look at the #IndieWeb site the other day, and had noted that there was a #WordPress specific section, but I hadn’t had a chance to go back and take a closer look, yet.

After the holidays, I’m going to try to manage my time better and make an effort to get some of my websites going again, and I have a couple of new personal projects that I want to get ramped up. So hopefully I can deep-dive into everything again.

@dougal @donncha I'll wish you a happy #NewwwYear then.
